DYFI demands probe on charges against Srinijan

M.B. Rajesh, MP and State president of the Democratic Youth Federation of India, has sought a comprehensive investigation into allegations of amassment of assets disproportionate to known sources of income levelled against P.V. Srinijan, Congress leader and son-in-law of the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and present Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission K.G. Balakrishnan. The allegations against Mr. Srinijan are that he owned landed properties in Bangalore, Chennai, Dubai, etc., and a school in Yercaud. He has not so far denied the allegations, Mr. Rajesh said and demanded that Mr. Balakrishnan step down from the post of NHRC Chairman. DYFI central committee member V.A. Zakir Hussain was also present at the press conference.
